We’re thrilled to have advised a leading digital accelerator 1337 Ventures on the operationalisation of its equity crowdfunding platform, Leet Capital.
1337 Ventures is no stranger to the local startup scene. The technology startup accelerator which also has a venture capital licence has been focused on pre-seed and seed-stage investments in Malaysia and the region since 2013.
Bikesh Lakhmichand, founding partner and CEO decided to set up an ECF platform operator to give retail investors an opportunity to invest in early-stage startups as they often get offers and inquiries for co-investments with 1337 Ventures. This also includes bringing brick and mortar companies digital.
For the Izwan & Partners team, the work was a highlight of our year as we were able to demonstrate our expertise in the regulatory space for fintech companies. Izwan not only advised on the regulatory and compliance framework issued by the Securities Commission of Malaysia but also provided advice on other key operational documents.
“This was a great opportunity for us to work alongside the highly motivated and driven team at 1337 Ventures, and we are proud to have been involved in this new equity crowdfunding platform which would be a formidable challenge against other existing incumbents to offer better investment opportunities in the future,” said Izwan Zakaria.
