Etiqa collaborates with Izwan & Partners in its insurtech accelerator

We are pleased to announce that we are coming on board as the exclusive legal partner for the upcoming accelerator programme to be jointly organised by Etiqa Digital and Watch Tower & Friends (WTF)

The insurtech focused accelerator by Etiqa is seeking applications from early stage startups with business ideas that could improve insurance industry ranging from artificial intelligence, remote working productivity tools, financial inclusion, customer experience and how insurance companies can innovate in the Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) space.

The selected startups will get access to a group of selected experienced mentors in the fintech and insurtech space, leverage the industry know-how of Etiqa Digital and other program partners like PwC, Cradle Fund, Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre, and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.

Etiqa Digital is the digital arm of the Maybank’s insurance and takaful company. Etiqa is one of the leaders in the insurance industry with presence in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia.

WTF is a leading tech accelerator focusing on building a startup ecosystem that will raise an ever growing number of successful startups. To date, it has invested in a wide range of successful startups like MoneyMatch, The Lorry, Kakitangan and so on.

The application process starts now and will continue until 30th September 2020. More details can be found on Etiqa’s Accelerator programme website.

The official launch will be on 14th September 2020 between 2pm – 4pm at The Orbit. PwC will be discussing on the current trends in the insurance space while Izwan & Partners will be giving an overview of legal issues that early stage startups should know especially on the insurtech space.
